TV Stats is a native macOS app that gives you control over your viewing history, and gives you personal stats for your movie and tv show habit. All stored locally on your Mac. No subscription. No ads. Just a powerful tool built for people who love what they watch.
Sick of seeing ads in your tv and movie tracker or having to pay to get more features. Make the switch. Begin to build a TV Stats watch history by dragging your .json or .csv files from other apps like Trakt into the import files dropbox in the data settings.

- 100% native macOS means no cloud, no servers, no data exchange
- All data saved to ~/Application Support so it never leaves your Mac
- Manual export option to download .json file of your watch history so it can always be backed up
- Option to back up your data to Google Drive by logging into your Google Account with an in app popup. No need to leave the app. Do this just in case you throw your laptop in a pool or spill coffee into the keyboard.

Personalization & Display

Trakt Integration

Built-in Data Protection
- The app checks file sizes before every save so your data can never be wiped by a glitch
- The app won't write a save file if it looks empty or corrupted
- On quit, the app stays open up to 5 seconds to ensure the last save finishes writing to disk
- The app won't fully shut down until it confirms the last save was successful
- Stores 10,000+ watch history items using a special memory system that avoids browser storage limits
- Uses a Weak Proxy system so the app never hogs RAM or leaks memory over time

Tracking & History
- Mark shows and movies as watched to build a personal viewing history
- When hitting checkmark to mark watched, option pops up to mark as watched now, on the air date, or another date where you can choose the day and time
- Marking a tv show watched on tv show tab or main title page marks the show as 100% watched on air date for each episode
- Your history is searchable and filterable by date, go back as far as you like
- Rewatched tab on history shows just the tv episodes or movies you rewatched
- History tab lets you sort by movies, TV episodes, or everything combined
- Bring This Date to the Top tab lets you choose the first date in the history list. Go back to July 31st 2016 to see what you were watching that month.
- Activity is recorded every time you click or change something and nothing gets lost
Watchlist
- Build a large watchlist of movies and shows you plan to watch
- When you mark something as watched, it removes itself from your watchlist automatically
Continue Watching
- Never lose your place because TV Stats always knows the next episode for all the shows you have started
- When a new season starts after waiting three years, it will show up in your continue watching section with a search bar in case there are too many shows you watch, like me.
- Your in progress shows are organized and ready to go in the order you watch them. Watch the pilot for the show M.A.S.H. and episode two shows up in this section first. Then watch the Breaking Bad pilot and episode two will show up first with M.A.S.H. episode two now next in the list.

Search
- Search by Movie, TV Show or Person
- Movie Title Page shows a trailer to preview the movie, ratings, genre, description of movie, release date, runtime, director, writer, studio, country and language, where to watch it, and full cast
- TV Show Title Page shows the same as the Movie Show Title Page with the addition of each season of the show. Click on a season to take you to a list of the episodes for that season.
- TV Show Episode Page shows the episode you are looking at, ratings, a place to mark watched or watched again, description of episode, air date, runtime, director, writer and cast
- Ability to hide a Movie or TV Show from showing up in search
- Items that are hidden can be seen in the settings menu at the bottom in a section called Hidden Movies & TV Shows
- Items that are hidden can also be put back so they will show up in searches again
