- Faster startup. For safety I had the app write to disk on every settings change. It just never batched, so they piled up. Opening the app was re-saving the entire settings file hundreds of times before it could draw the first screen. It now saves once after the changes settle. There is a forced save if the window closes, so nothing can be lost. Home, Movies and TV Shows all load noticeably quicker.
- Stats. Announced episodes that have not aired yet no longer "exist" to the app, so stats and watch percentages are not affected.
- Episode totals refresh on their own. A show's episode count used to be saved once at the time you first watched the show and never updated unless you opened that show's main page again. So, percentages drifted and were able to be over 100%. They now refresh in the background after a week.
- Fixed wrong Next Up episodes. When a request to the database failed, the app treated it as proof the episode did not exist and skipped ahead to the wrong season. Failed requests are now recognized as failures, so nothing wrong is shown or saved.
- Fewer failed requests. Opening the app used to fire a lookup for every show in your history at once, which the database rate limited. Lookups now occur in small groups. That burst and the limit at the open was causing wrong episodes to show.
- Episode cast update. The cast list was listing the show's main cast, identical on every episode. Guest stars are now included, so the actors actually in that episode appear.
- Hours watched on every actor. The hours watched badge was capped at the first 15 actors listed for each episode page and movie page. Every actor with watched hours now gets one.
- Watched history file split in two. Guest star and crew details moved into their own file. Opening will be quicker, and marking an episode watched went from about three quarters of a second to about a sixth.
