Weekly Cash for Coal Event Working
The idea
Coal is King! A weekly contest tied to the wipe cycle running from the start of wipe Thursdays at 3PM MST to Wednesday 7PM MST. Players convert Scrap into Coal at Outpost vending machines for 250 scrap. Player with the most coal at the end of the event wins.
Who will be the Real Solo God of Earth?
Requirements
- The event starts with $5 in the prize pool.
- For the event to reach a payout, the server must reach 500 total hours played by everyone across the wipe. Miss that and there is no payment that week.
- Every 500 hours played adds another $5 to the prize pool
- Donations made on my website increase the payout. When donations hit $5, that raises the total prize pool to $10. That would raise the requirement of hours played to 1000 to pay this $10.
- If total prize pool is $40 and the total hours played is 700, that would be a $5 payout to the winner.
- A banner in the top left of your screen shows the server's running hour total and how close it is to the next payout. It updates while you play, so you always know where the server stands.
- If the 500 hours played goal is not met, the prize money is not lost. It carries over and is added to the following week's prize. So, if the prize pool is $40 and total hours played is 700, There would be a $5 payout and $35 is carried over to the next week's prize pool.
- One more example. If the total hours of the server is 2200 and the prize pool is $10. It is only a $10 payout unless more money is donated. Remember though, a donation is not required to play and win.
- You will not be able to sit AFK for hours at a time to increase server hours. Only active play will count towards server hours.
Counting the Coal
Coal only counts toward your total once it's stored in a box or barrel you placed. Small boxes, large boxes, barrels, that is it. Coal in your Inventory, Tool Cupboards, Lockers, Cabinets etc. will not be counted.
In addition, coal must be 10 meters or less from a Tool Cupboard you own.
Server counts coal by matching the owner steam ID for each container, meaning you placed it. A good example: if you raid a base and decide to authorize an unlocked Tool Cupboard and make it a new home, make sure you take the coal out of the boxes, pick up the boxes and replace them so they carry your id, not the person you raided. Then put it in the box or barrel you placed.
How the reveal works
- During the entire event you will only know how much coal you have. You can use the command /checkcoal in chat to see your total. Use /checkcoal after placing coal in a box to see if it is counted. Make sure the box is 10m or less from your TC.
- You will never know how much coal anyone else has until the last hour. This is by design.
- 60 minutes before the event ends the leaderboard appears on your screen by itself. No command needed. It shows the top 10 with their coal amounts and your own place, with a countdown to the end. Turn it off with /leaderoff and back on with /leaderon.
- The top 10 refreshes every 10 seconds, and every second once the countdown crosses the final minute. The countdown itself ticks every second.
- When the event ends the totals are frozen. The leaderboard and /checkcoal both show the final numbers from that moment, so coal moved afterward changes nothing.
No Teaming Working
No teaming of any kind will be tolerated.
- This is a Solo Only server.
- Kill on site or run away.
- No giving items away. (base included)

Workbenches Working
Workbench Level 1
Build cost is 500 Wood, 100 Metal Frags, 50 Scrap. No matter what the crafting menu says, make sure you have 50 Scrap in you inventory.
Workbench Level 2
Build cost is 500 Metal Frags, 20 HQM, 500 Scrap. Use chat command /buildwb2 to build. Requires standing within 10m of a placed Workbench Level 1.
Workbench Level 3
Build cost is 1,000 Metal Frags, 100 HQM, 1,000 Scrap. Use chat command /buildwb3 to build. Requires standing within 10m of a placed Workbench Level 2.
Why use chat commands?
Vanilla workbench recipes are hard-coded to the crafting menu and need blueprint fragments to craft in that menu. Only work around is using a chat command.
Patrol Helicopter Working
The Patrol Helicopter does not spawn. Ever.

No Entry Fee (Freeroll) Explanation
I am based in Arizona. Arizona law defines gambling as risking something of value for the opportunity to win a benefit from a contest of chance or skill. Skill is written right into the statute, so proving this event takes skill would not change anything. The only thing that keeps this clean is that there is no entry fee, ever. Nothing of value is risked, so it never becomes gambling in the first place.
That means the prize is never pooled from player money. I fund it, with help from donations and from unrelated merchandise sold on this site. Donating or buying something gets you nothing in the event. No entry, no bonus, no advantage, no special treatment. Everyone plays on identical terms and anyone can win without ever spending a cent.
